Many First Bus services in Cornwall did not run on 23-24 July because of strikes by drivers demanding a better pay deal. Although services are back to normal today, 25 July, it seems likely that there will be further disruption over the summer with the union threatening strikes during the Boardmasters event that is scheduled in Newquay 9-12 August.

Go Cornwall Bus services have not been affected by drivers’ strikes and I am informed by a reliable industry source that their drivers have agreed a two-year pay deal taking them through until 2026. That is good news for bus passengers in Cornwall who rely on Go Cornwall Bus services.
