First, an apology for having to use a rather colourful word to describe the behaviour of Cornwall Council but, when they are unable to carry out a simple action like keeping information on a website up to date and accurate, it is difficult to find a polite way of describing their performance.
The Transport for Cornwall website was first published about two years ago with an ambition, as described on the site, "to bring all your essential travel information together in one place”. Two years on, it is still riddled with inaccurate and out of date information. A promotion was launched on 20 July to encourage families to buy all day or all week family tickets. Despite the promotional material being branded as Transport for Cornwall, the TfC website continues, 10 days later, to display the incorrect prices for the tickets and also the link to the Cornwall Bus Timetable book is out of date with the 31 March book being shown rather than the latest 24 July version. The new timetable book has been printed in full colour, all 116 pages, and is available on some buses and bus stations, at a cost, no doubt, of thousands of pounds, but nobody can be found who is capable of changing the link on the website to the new book - a task which should take no more than 5-10 minutes.
I emailed Cornwall Council very politely on 25 July asking them to update the Transport for Cornwall website with the correct information about the prices of family tickets and the timetables. Today, 30 July, I received a reply that said, "We are aware of technical issues with the site and we are working on resolving this.” See screenshot of emails below.
In the circumstances, I think that bollocks is a reasonable description of their response.
