X, formerly known as Twitter, blocks Go Cornwall Bus - company locked out of account for last week
26 July 2024

Anyone who uses Twitter (or as Elon Musk likes to call it, X) to monitor what is happening on buses in Cornwall will have noticed that no updates have been posted by Go Cornwall Bus for a week. Usually, Go Cornwall Bus posts information about cancelled buses, buses running late, other topical news etc. a dozen or more times a day, but nothing has appeared since 19 July.

I spoke to the Go Cornwall Bus helpline today and was told that they have been locked out of their account. They have been given no reason for this and GCB are immensely frustrated about this because they have seen the service as a useful way of communicating with passengers with up to date information. GCB are pursuing Twitter about this and hope that something can be resolved soon, but have no idea how quickly it will be remedied.

Meanwhile, passengers are encouraged to use the GCB smartphone app to look at real time information and service updates. Items will also be posted on the Go Cornwall Bus website but cannot be updated as quickly as was possible with Twitter.
